Plants with hysteranthous leaves, solitary, inflorescence up to 500 mm high. Tuber simple, pyriform, up to 65 mm long and 35 mm at the widest point near the base; skin tough, brown, interior white; growing point basal with a groove for the leaf sheath. Old leaf sheaths up to 130 mm long and 7 mm diameter at ground level, light brown. Leaf solitary, prostrate and adpressed; contemporary leaf sheath barely exserted, 3 mm diameter; lamina orbicular, deeply cordate with lobes overlapping, up to 65 mm from the apex to the depression and 100 mm wide, adaxial surface bright green, glossy, abaxial surface paler green, somewhat fleshy, glabrous. Peduncular bract exserted part leaf-like, ovate, 15 mm long and 14 mm wide, greel)ish-purple, glabrous. Peduncle up to 250 mm long and 4 mm diameter, glabrous. Raceme dense, subspicate to narrowly cylindrical, up to 200 mm long and 22 mm wide with 70 flowers. Bracts variable, minute, sometimes vestigial, transparent. Pedicels lowest up to 8 mm long, erectopatent. Flowers rotate, opening in the afternoon, somewhat recurved at the apex, up to 12 mm diameter. Tepals subequal, whitish or pale yellowish-green with a darker green midnerve and red streaking at the apex especially on the outer tepals; outer tepals elliptic attenuate, 5 mm long and 2 mm wide, inner oblanceolate, 5 mm long, 2.5 mm wide, apex somewhat cucullate. Filaments equal, erect forming a ring around the ovary, adnate 0.5-1.0 mm up the tepals, oblong, apiculate, 2.5 mm long and up to 1.5 mm wide, white; anthers oblong, 1 mm long, yellow. Ovary ovoid, 1.5-2.5 mm long and 2 mm wide, dark green. Style cylindrical, 1-2 mm long, white.
