Plant with hysteranthous leaves, solitary, inflorescence up to 280 mm high. Tuber pyriform to irregularly-shaped, sometimes warty, up to 55 mm long and 35 mm wide; skin light brown, interior pale to dark pink; growing point basal to lateral, one per tuber. Old leaf sheaths up to 150 mm long and 10 mm wide, greyish to light brown, fibrous, reticulate. Leaf solitary, erect; contemporary leaf sheath not exserted beyond the old fibres, sheathing the peduncle and merging into the lamina; lamina lorate, acuminate, up to 180 mm long and 10 mm wide, grey, densely villous on both surfaces, hairs up to 3 mm long, dead leaves often persisting. Peduncular bract hidden by the old leaf sheaths, sheathing except the apical 1 mm, green with a red apex. Peduncle up to 130 mm long, wiry, light green with red streaking. Raceme variable, sub-spicate to lax, up to 120 mm long and 45 mm wide, with 6-45 flowers. Bracts narrowly triangular, saccate to spurred, 1 mm long, semi-amplexicaul, colourless with a brown midnerve. Pedicels variable in length, barely 2 mm long and erecto-patent in some populations, and up to 25 mm long and arcuate in others. Flowers triangular, spreading, up to 10 mm diameter. Tepals dimorphic, connate for 1 mm at the base; outer tepals elliptic acute, 4.5 mm long and 1.8 mm wide white with a broad green midnerve overlaid with fine red streaking, inner broadly spathulate with an attenuate pinched-in apex and irregularly denticulate apical margin, 4.5 mm long and 3 mm wide, pale yellow with a white rim and broad green midnerve. Filaments sub-equal, adnate to the base of the tepals only, broadly ovate to lanceolate, 1.5 mm long and 1.3-1.5 mm wide, fleshy, White; anthers yellow. Ovary globose to ovoid, 1.5 mm long and 1.5 mm wide, pale green. Style cylindrical, 1 mm long, white.
