Plants synanthous, inflorescence up to 200 mm high. Tuber globose, up to 18 mm long and 22 mm wide; skin rough, pale fawn, interior pink becoming darker at the base; growing point apical with several on older tubers. Old leaf sheaths up to 30 mm long, 2 mm diameter, thick, softly fibrous. Leaves erect, 1-3 per growing point, rarely a fourth much smaller; contemporary leaf sheath exserted up to 15 mm, green or mottled with maroon towards the base, inner sheath terete, outer canaliculate and sheathing the inner leaf; lamina linear, narrowly lanceolate to somewhat falcate, base cuneate and folded inwards, apex acute, up to 120 mm long, 10 mm wide, soft, slightly fleshy, both surfaces bright green, glabrous. Peduncle up to 95 mm long and less than 1 mm diameter, basal 10 mm maroon spotted, green above. Raceme sub-erect, lax, up to 80 mm long and 30 mm wide, with about 10 flowers. Bracts cymbiform, 1.0-1.5 mm long, sometimes 1-2 mm below the pedicels, green becoming brown, membranous. Pedicels up to 21 mm long, erecto-patent, arcuate, green. Flowers spreading up to 16 mm diameter, opening after midday. Tepals sub-equal, linear, yellow with red stippling on the underside confmed to a broad midnerve on the inner tepals; outer tepals up to 8 mm long, 2 mm wide, inner slightly broader and shorter often with a cucullate apex. Filaments erect, adnate to the base of the tepals, filiform, apiculate, 5 mm long, 0.5 mm diameter, yellow. Ovary ovoid, 3-lobed, 2 mm long, 1.8 mm wide. Style narrowly cylindrical, 4 mm long, 0.5 mm diameter, yellow.
