Plants with hysteranthous leaves, solitary, inflorescence up to 80 mm high. Tuber irregular in shape, up to 17 mm long and 10 mm diameter; skin light brown, interior white; growing point lateral. Old leaf sheaths up to 80 mm long, fibrous. Leaf solitary, prostrate: contemporary leaf sheath barely exserted; lamina orbicular-cordate, up to 15 mm wide and 11 mm long, green with prominent longitudinal ridges, glabrous, dried leaf often persistent until flowering. Peduncular bract just reaching ground level, very thin, membranous, non-sheathing part acute, 1.5 mm long, purplish. Peduncle up to 50 mm long and 0.5 mm diameter, red at the base shading to pale green above. Raceme lax, up to 22 mm long, with 5-7 flowers. Bracts triangular, saccate or cymbiform, 1-2 mm long, membranous, white with a reddish-brown midnerve. Pedicels ascending, up to 3 mm long, white. Flowers campanulate or cup-shaped, up to 5 mm diameter at the opening. Tepals dimorphic, basally connate for 1 mm, white with a green midnerve sometimes overlaid with faint red streaking; the outer elliptic with extended base and slightly attenuate apices, 4 mm long and 1.3 mm wide, the inner broadly spathulate with long attenuate tips folded inwards, 3.5 mm long and up to 1.5 mm wide. Filaments adnate 1.5 mm up the tepals, less than 1 mm long, broader at the base and tapering towards the anther; anthers reddish-purple. Ovary globose, 1 mm long and wide. Style less than 1 mm long, white. Copious nectar is produced at the base of the ovary.
