Plants with hysteranthous leaves, solitary or clump-forming, inflorescence up to 120 mm high. Tuber very small, irregularly-shaped, about 10 mm long and 8 mm wide, with several stolons up to 30 mm long and 2.5 mm diameter wide; skin thin, light fawn, interior white; growing point lateral. Old leaf sheaths up to 20 mm long, membranous, dark brown. Leaf solitary to clustered, prostrate but not adpressed to the ground; contemporary leaf sheath about 5 mm long, red, glabrous; lamina broadly ovate-cordate, up to 20 mm long and 16 mm wide, adaxial surface dark green with scattered trichomes about 3 mm long arising from the centre of a raised pimple, abaxial surface reddish-·green, shiny, glabrous. Peduncular bract barely exserted, non-sheathing part going to a point, retrorse, bright maroon red. Peduncle 85 mm long wiry, 0.5 mm diameter, red striped over green. Raceme lax, 30 mm long and 22 mm wide, with 3-4 flowers. Bracts broadly triangular, membranous, transparent with a broad brown midnerve, 1 mm long. Pedicels lowest up to 17 mm long, upper becoming progressively shorter, erecto-patent, somewhat arcuate. Flowers triangular, 8 mm diameter. Tepals dimorphic, connate at the extreme base white with a green midnerve overlaid with red stippling; outer narrowly elliptic, half spreading, 5.5 mm long; inner erect, spathulate, narrowing at the base to expose the filaments, apex pinched-in, fimbriate and cucullate, 4.5 mm long, 2.5 mm wide. Filaments dimorphic, white, outer adnate to the base of the tepal, very broadly ovate, hunched with an apiculate attachment for the anther, 1.8 mm long and 1.5 mm wide; inner adnate 1 mm up the tepal, triangular, 1 mm long and 0.8 mm wide; anthers dark brownish. Ovary globose, 1.3 mm long and wide, light green with red spots. Style cylindrical, 1.3 mm white.
