Plants with hysteranthous leaves, solitary, inflorescence up to 175 mm high. Tuber single or multiple with several growing points in older plants, sub-globose, 14 mm long, 30 mm wide; skin fawn, flesh white; growing point more or less apical, sometimes appearing not so on subsidiary tubers. Old leaf sheaths up to 60 mm long, 1.5 mm diameter, chestnut brown, membranous. Leaf solitary, prostrate; contemporary leaf sheath exserted up to 5 mm, covered with fine straight hairs 1-2 mm long; lamina broadly orbicular, deeply cordate, up to 54 mm wide, 28 mm apex to sheath insertion and 40 mm apex to lobes, the upper surface glaucous green, covered with long soft hairs up to 2 mm long, the under-surface lighter green with fewer hairs. Peduncular bract exserted 2-15 mm, basal sheathing part purplish-red with prominent vertical lines, upper expanded part ovate-cordate, 1-8 mm long and wide, dark green; both parts with scattered, long white hairs. Peduncle 70 mm long, 1 mm diameter, reddish near the base becoming glaucous green above; basal 10-20 mm glabrous or covered with soft straight hairs more than 1 mm long. Raceme lax, 45 mm long, 32 mm wide, with 10-18 flowers. Bracts triangular with wing-like extensions, two-thirds amplexicaul, 1.0-1.5 mm long, membranous, colourless with a dark brown to purplish midnerve. Pedicels erecto-patent, lowest up to 16 mm in flower, green, glabrous. Flowers campanulate to spreading or upper half recurved, opening in the afternoon, up to 8 mm across. Tepals subequal, connate for 1.0-1.5 mm at the base, Iigulate, 8 mm long, 2.0-2.5 mm wide, basally greenish-yellow, upper part lemon yellow with a green midnerve; margin irregularly, finely serrate in the upper half. Stamens erect, subequal, the inner almost 1 mm higher than outer; filaments adnate to the tepals for 1.5 mm, filiform, apiculate, white, outer 2 mm long, inner 3 mm long, 0.5 mm wide; anthers ovoid, introrse, yellow. Ovary narrowly ovoid, 2.5 mm long, 1.0-1.3 mm wide, very pale green. Style short, cylindrical 1.5 mm long, white.
