Plants with hysteranthous leaves, solitary, inflorescence up to 135 mm high. Tuber sub-globose, up to 15 mm high and 30 mm wide; skin light fawny-brown, interior white; growing point apical. Old leaf sheaths up to l00 mm long, 4 mm diameter at the base spreading to about 8 mm near ground level, light brown becoming darker with age, membranous. Leaf solitary, suberect; contemporary leaf sheath exserted up to 15 mm, 1.5 mm diameter, sulcate, green, sometimes red streaked; lamina broadly lanceolate, truncate to cordate, acute, apiculate, up to 100 mm long, 35 mm wide, green to glaucous green on both surfaces, thin and somewhat flaccid, glabrous, margin entire. Peduncular bract exserted up to 12 mm, apical 8 mm ovate, spreading, apex retrorse, acute, fleshy, glabrous, light green with some red streaking. Peduncle 40-90 mm long, 1.5 mm diameter, pale green with faint red streaking or mottling near the base. Raceme lax, up to 50 mm long, 34 mm wide, with few to 15 flowers. Bracts vestigial or obsolete forming a slight ridged area at the junction of the peduncle and pedicel. Pedicels erecto-patent, lowest 20 mm long, somewhat arcuate, pale green witb red streaking. Flowers deeply cyathiform, 14 mm diameter; buds narrow up to 8 mm long, green. Tepals subequal, linear, acute, about 7.5 mm long and 1.5 mm wide, pale to deep yellow, with a broad green midnerve on the outside. Filaments erect, adnate to the base of the tepals, filiform gradually narrowing to an apiculate apex, outer 4.5 mm long, inner 5 mm long, 0.8 mm wide at the base tapering to 0.3 mm, bright yellow; anthers globose, 0.5 mm long, yellow. Ovary ovoid, 2.5 mm long, 1.3-1.5 mm wide, green. Style narrowly cylindrical, 4 mm long, less than 0.5 mm diameter, yellow.
