Plants with hysteranthous leaves, solitary, inflorescence up to 50 mm high. Tuber sub-globose, up to 25 mm long, 30 mm wide, with a few thick roots arising in a ring equatorially; skin light to greyish-brown, rough, interior white; growing point apical. Old leaf sheaths up to 18 mm long, 2-3 mm wide, fibrous, light to greyish-brown. Leaf solitary, erect; contemporary leaf sheath exserted up to 35 mm, less than 1 mm diameter, wiry, often spirally bent and grooved near the lamina, dark reddish at the base becoming glaucous green above; lamina held vertically, obovate or elliptic to orbicular, base attenuate, apex apiculate, up to 34 mm from the apex to the base, 25 mm wide, canaliculate with the sides bent inwards, glaucous blue on both surfaces, somewhat coriaceous, glabrous; margin yellow. Peduncular bract erect, leaflike, sheathing part extending about 15 mm above ground, blade suberect, broadly orbicular, 13 mm from base to apex, 17 mm wide, apiculate, glaucous on both surfaces, glabrous. Peduncle up to 30 mm long, 1 mm diameter, glaucous, glabrous. Raceme corymbose, 27 mm long, 32 mm wide, with up to 20 flowers. Bracts triangular, saccate, 0.5 mm long or obsolete. Pedicels lowest 13 mm long, upper becoming shorter, erecto-patent, wiry. Flowers spreading to recurved, 9-10 mm diameter. Tepals subequal, white with a pale green midnerve overlaid with red streaking; outer ligulate, 6 mm long, 2.3 mm wide, inner narrowly spathulate, cucullate, 7 mm long, 2.5 mm wide. Filaments erect, adnate to the base of the tepals, filiform, tapered slightly to the anther, 5 mm long, white; anther less than 1 mm long, yellow. Ovary ovoid, 2.3 mm long, 2 mm wide, very pale green with reddish markings. Style cylindrical, 3 mm long, white.
