Plants with hysteranthous leaves, solitary, inflorescence up to 125 mm high. Tuber globose to sub-globose, up to 12 mm long and 18 mm wide; skin thin, fawn, interior pale pink, growing point apical. Old leaf sheaths up to 40 mm long and 2 mm diameter. Leaf solitary, erect, not always produced if peduncle and pedicels persist; contemporary leaf sheath not exserted; lamina acicular, straight or the upper half bent, up to 40 mm long and about 0.5 mm wide, bright shiny green, glabrous. Peduncular bract not observed. Peduncle up to 40 mm long, very wiry, less than 0.5 mm diameter, wavy or 100sely spirally twisted, light fawn. Raceme lax, up to 100 mm long and 65 mm across, with up to 20 flowers; rachis flexuose, wiry, green. Bracts narrowly triangular, lower 1.5-2.0 mm long, upper becoming shorter and broader often wrinkled, dark brown, membranous. Pedicels arising at the bend in the rachis, arcuate, lowest up to 45 mm long, upper about 10 mm, very wiry, green. Flowers spreading to recurved, about 6 mm diameter. Tepals subequal, bright yellow with a dark red midnerve on the lower side, outer linear-obtuse, 4 mm long and 1 mm wide, inner narrowly elliptic-obtuse, somewhat cucullate 4 mm long, 1.5 mm wide. Filaments filiform, bright yellow, about 2.5 mm long, 0.5 mm wide, anthers less than 0.5 mm long. Ovary narrowly ovoid, 1.3 mm long, less than 1 mm wide, yellowish-green. Style cylindrical, less than 1 mm long, yellow.
