Plants with hysteranthous leaves, solitary, inflorescence up to 220 mm high. Tuber sub-globose to irregular in shape, up to 30 mm long and 20 mm wide; skin thin, light brown, interior pale pink; growing point basal with a lateral groove. Old leaf sheaths up to 60 mm long, membranous, chestnut-brown to greyish. Leaf solitary, erect; contemporary leaf sheath exserted approximately 70 mm, up to 1 mm diameter, reddish with short white hairs at the base, gradually becoming green and glabrous towards the lamina; lamina lanceolate up to 55 mm long and 9 mm wide, bright green, glabrous on both surfaces, shiny on the lower surface, thin-textured. Peduncular bract not seen. Peduncle up to 90 mm long, very wiry, basally dark red and pilose, becoming green and glabrous above, slightly thicker a few millimetres below the first pedicel. Raceme very lax, flexuose, with 10-20 flowers. Bracts lanceolate, acute, 1 mm long, membranous. Pedicels erecto-patent, arcuate, lowest up to 85 mm long, upper 10 mm long, very wiry, green. Flowers cup-shaped, up to 4 mm diameter. Tepals dimorphic, white with a green midnerve and some red streaking; outer sub-erect, narrowly elliptic, acute, 3.5-4.0 mm long, inner erect, broadly spathulate, 2.5-3.0 mm long, slightly fimbriate with a pinched-in apex. Filaments nearly as long as the tepals; outer broadly lanceolate, inner adnate to the tepals for more than 1 mm, free part narrowing abruptly; anthers turquoise. Ovary globose, 1 mm long and barely 1 mm wide, green. Style cylindrical, barely 1 mm long, white.
