Plants with hysteranthous leaves, solitary or rarely clump-forming, inflorescence up to 300 mm high. Tuber simple, or rarely with stolons, pyriform, 15-20 mm high and up to 12 mm wide, stolons up to 60 mm long and 4 mm wide; Skin thin and pale brown, interior white; growing point basal. Old leaf sheaths up to 90 mm long and 4 mm wide, slender, fibrous, greyish-brown. Leaf erect; contemporary leaf sheath exserted up to 45 mm, wiry, reddish-green, glabrous; lamina ovate when young becoming very narrowly lanceolate to falcate, acuminate, apiculate, gradually tapering to the base, up to 125 mm long and 8 mm wide, glaucous green, glabrous. Peduncular bract barely exserted, membranous, transparent with a reddish-brown tip, sheathing except for the top 1.5 mm. Peduncle up to 140 mm long, less than 1 mm diameter, basally red, becoming green above. Raceme up to 75 mm long and 14 mm wide, with up to 16 flowers. Bracts 1 mm long, membranous, transparent with a dark brown midnerve. Pedicels lowest up to 4 mm long, pale green. Flowers campanulate, 8-9 mm diameter. Tepals dimorphic, almost white to pale yellow with a green midnerve and some fine red spotting; outer narrowly elliptic, 4 mm long and 1.5 mm wide, with attenuate retrorse apices, inner spathulate becoming narrowly attenuate, folded inwards in the upper half, 4 mm long and 2 mm wide. Filaments adnate about 2 mm up the tepals, narrowly triangular, less than 1 mm long and about 0.5 mm at the base and distally gradually tapering, yellowish-white; anthers yellow. Ovary globose, 1.3 mm long and wide, pale green. Style cylindrical, less than 1 mm long, white.
