Plants with hysteranthous leaves, solitary, inflorescence up to 400 mm high. Tuber simple or compound, becoming irregularly-shaped and warty with numerous tuberculate · root bases, up to 80 mm long and 30 mm wide; skin dark brown, interior pale to deep pink; growing point basal to lateral with a groove for the shoot. Old leaf sheaths up to 90 mm long and 8 mm diameter, brown, membranous. Leaf solitary, suberect to prostrate; contemporary leaf sheath barely exserted, up to 5 mm diameter, glabrous or sometimes hirsute, grooved in the upper part; lamina broadly ovate to orbicular-cordate up to 210 mm long from apex to base and up to 135 mm wide, or 180 mm long and up to 190 mm wide, glabrous on both surfaces or very occasionally hirsute on the underside, soft, thin, slightly transversely wrinkled, green on both surfaces; margin with or without a thin red line; when dried the adaxial surface marked with numerous tan-brown dots. Peduncular bract exserted 5 mm, ovate-acute, apex retrorse, light green with a red margin, glabrous. Peduncle 400 mm long and 1.5 m~ diameter at the base narrowing gradually to 1 mm, basally faintly red streaked, glaucous green above, glabrous. Raceme sub-spicate, secund, up to 120 mm long and 20 mm wide, with up to 26 flowers. Bracts triangular, sometimes saccate, apex attenuate, retrorse, up to 2 mm long, membranous, white with a brown midnerve. Pedicels up to 9 mm long, usually less, wiry, erecto-patent, glaucous with faint red streaking. Flowers triangular, spreading, up to 14 mm diameter. Tepals dimorphic, connate for 1 mm at the base, cream with a broad midnerve overlaid with red streaking especially at the apex; outer tepals spreading, elliptic, acute, apex recurved, about 6 mm long and 2.5 mm wide, inner erect, broadly spathulate, with crisped and fimbriate apex, 7 mm long and 3 mm wide. Filaments adnate to the base of the tepals for almost 1 mm, sub-equal, ovate, gradually tapering to the anther, barely 2 mm long and 1.5 mm wide, inner slightly narrower; anthers pale green to yellow. Ovary ovoid to globose, 2 mm long, 1.8 mm wide, green. Style cylindrical, 2 mm long, white.
