Plants with hysteranthous leaves, solitary, inflorescence about 300 mm high. Tuber globose, up to 35 mm long and 50 mm wide; skin rough, brown, interior white; growing point apical. Old leaf sheaths 70 mm long, up to 10 mm wide, where tightly packed, spreading to 25 mm wide where 100se and untidy above, membranous, light brown. Leaf solitary, erecto-patent; contemporary leaf sheath exserted up to 55 mm, terete, 3-4 mm diameter, maroon red, densely covered with white curly hairs about 4 mm long; lamina broadly ovate to orbicular-cordate, up to 85 mm from insertion of leaf sheath to apex, and 105 mm wide, upper surface dark green, lower surface green with a silvery sheen, coriaceous, glabrous except for the under surface a few mm from the leaf sheath. Peduncular bract not apparently appearing above ground, non-sheathing part up to 5mm long, small, brown, membranous. Peduncle 220 mm long, 3 mm diameter, dark green, basal half covered with fine straight hairs up to 5 mm long. Raceme 75 mm long and 35 mm wide in flower and bud, conical, with about 25 flowers. Bracts triangular, 1.0-1.5 mm long, transparent, membranous. Pedicals up to 10 mm long in flower, patent. Flowers campanulate, 10-12 mm across. Tepals subequal, 7 mm long, outer up to 3 mm wide, inner slightly less, pale lemon yellow with a green midnerve. Filaments erect round the ovary, adnate about 1.5 mm up the tepals, subulate, about 4 mm long, white; anthers small, white. Ovary ovoid, about 25 mm long and 1.5 mm wide, very pale green. Style cylindrical, about 2 mm long, white.
