Plants with hysteranthous leaves, solitary, up to 240 mm high. Tuber solitary, pyriform, up to 20 mm long, 7 mm diameter; skin dark brown, internally white becoming pink in the older part; growing point basal. Old leaf sheaths 35 mm long and 2 mm diameter, dark brown, membranous. Leaf solitary, prostrate, contemporary leaf sheath not exserted; lamina broadly ovate to orbicular-cordate, 12 mm long from apex to depression and 13 mm wide, green, upper and lower surfaces almost glabrous, margin ciliate. Peduncular bract not seen above ground, hidden by old sheathing leaves, upper 3 mm non-sheathing, acute, transparent, with dark veins. Peduncle 300 mm long and 1 mm diameter, basal 30 mm dark red and puberulous, green and glabrous above. Raceme lax, often secund, up to 50 mm long, 18 mm wide, with up to 10 flowers. Bracts triangular, somewhat saccate, 1.0-1.5 mm, long, light brown with a darker midnerve, membranous. Pedicels up to 8 mm long, wiry, erecto-patent, arcuate. Flowers spreading to recurved, 12 mm diameter. Tepals sub-equal, bright yellow with a green midnerve, outer narrowly elliptic, 7.5 mm long and 2 mm at the widest part; inner slightly shorter and wider with a cucullate apex. Filaments adnate to the base of the tepals, filiform, apiculate, outer 2.3 mm long, inner 3.8 mm long, yellow. Ovary ovoid, 2.3 mm long and 1.3 mm wide, yellow. Style cylindrical, 2.3 mm long, yellow.
