Plants with hysteranthous leaves, solitary, inflorescence up to 65 mm high. Tuber irregularly-shaped, about 35 mm high and 55 mm wide, interior pink; the several growing points basal to lateral. Old leaf sheaths up to 110 mm long, 4 mm diameter spreading to 10 mm diameter near ground level, membranous, light brown. Leaf solitary, prostrate to erecto-patent; contemporary leaf sheath barely exserted or up to 20 mm long, up to 3 mm diameter, grooved, glabrous; lamina ovate to orbicular cordate, up to 38 mm from leaf sheath insertion to apex and 25 mm wide, both surfaces glaucous green, coriaceous, glabrous, veins somewhat pronounced giving a rugose effect to the upper surface; margin thickened and minutely crisped. Peduncular bract exserted about 3 mm, white, sheathing except for the uppermost 2 mm, fleshy, green flushed with red towards the apex. Peduncle about 30 mm long, 1.5 mm diameter, glaucous green with red streaking. Raceme compact, narrowly conical, 28 mm long, about 20 mm wide, with about 14 flowers. Bracts broadly triangular, saccate, 1 mm long, membranous, midnerve green stippled red. Pedicels 4-5 mm long, erecto-patent, paler in colour than the peduncle. Flowers triangular, 12-13 mm diameter. Tepals dimorphic, white with a green midnerve and red stippling on the outside, the outer spreading, narrowly elliptic, acute, 9 mm long and 1.5-2.0 mm wide, the inner erect but not hiding the stamens, spathulate with a short pinched-in and fimbriate apex, 7 mm long and up to 2 mm wide. Filaments dimorphic, adnate to the base of the tepals, white, outer narrowly oblanceolate, 3 mm long and about 1 mm wide, inner triangular, 3 mm long and 1mm wide at the base. Ovary globose to subglobose, 2 mm long and wide, green. Style cylindrical, 3 mm long.
