Plants with hysteranthous leaves, solitary, inflorescence up to 200 mm high. Tuber globose to sub-globose, 25 mm long and 22 mm wide, skin very thin, light fawn, interior white; growing point apical, in a depression. Old leaf sheaths few, about 30 mm long, light brown, membranous. Leaf solitary, erect to sub-erect; contemponi.ry sheath exserted about 20 mm, less than 1 mm diameter; lamina ovate cordate, up to 30 mm long, 18 mm wide, apiculate, thin, glabrous. Peduncular bract barely exserted, largely sheathing, membranous. Peduncle up to 40 mm long, 0.5 mm diameter at the base, very gradually thickening to 11.5 mm diameter at the lowest pedicel, dark maroon. Raceme lax up to 150 mm long and 80 mm across with about 20 flowers. Bracts triangular, 1 mm long, membranous, colourless with a purplish-brown midnerve. Pedicels wiry, spreading to erecto-patent, arcuate, lowest up to 55 mm long. Flowers cup-shaped becoming spreading in sunshine, 7 mm diameter. Tepals sub-equal, white with an olive green midnerve overlaid with red streaking, outer ligulate acute, 5.5 mm long, 1.5 mm wide, inner narrowly oblanceolate, 5 mm long and 1.8 mm wide. Filaments adnate to the base of the tepals, equal, narrowly subulate, 2.5 mm long, white; anthers 0.5 mm long, yellow. Ovary ovoid, 1.8 mm long, up to 1 mm wide near the base, very pale green with purple speckling in the centre of each valve. Style narrowly cylindrical, 1.5-1.8 mm long, white.
